Growtopia Surgery Tools

Below you will find all of the Growtopia Surgery Tools you can collect in the game. Though not each tool is needed to complete surgery, it is certainly advisable that you carry a variety of them so that you are ready for any kind of surgery which might arise.

Empty Surgery Tray – This cannot be collected by players as it merely illustrates that you are missing tools.

Surgical Antiseptic – This is required to clean the location of the operation. If the operation site is dirty or unsanitary, this is what you need.

Surgical Antibiotics – To be employed if the patient is suffering from a fever. If the message on the surgery screen reads “Patient’s fever is climbing,” surgical antibiotics can be used to lower the temperature and prevent the fever from getting worse.

Surgical Anaesthetic – Sorts out the need to put a patient sleep and change their status to Unconscious from Awake. Be wary though, this must be used before the Surgical Scalpel is employed, as failing to do so will cause the surgery to fail completely.

Surgical Clamp – Required to ensure that blood vessels are clamped. This can be employed if the patient is losing blood, but if the “Fix It” button is able to be used. The Surgical Clamp however requires the patient to have a minimum of one incision before it can be used.

Surgical Lab Kit – A bridging tool that is used to unlock Surgical Antibiotics. You cannot employ Surgical Antibiotics before using this tool.

Surgical Pins – Needed to remedy shattered bones by turning them into broken bones. The patient is required to have a minimum of one incision before the Surgical Pins may be used.

Surgical Scalpel – Must be used prior to the fixing of a shattered bone, the Surgical Scalpel cuts open the patient and is best used up until the “Fix It” button appears.

Surgical Splint – If a patient has a broken bone, the Surgical Splint can be used to fix it,

Surgical Sponge – If you ever see the message “You can’t see what you are doing!” or “It’s becoming hard to see.”, the Surgical Sponge can be used to continue care of the patient.

Surgical Stitches – Required to prevent bleeding and close incisions, Surgical Stitches can be used when the patient is experiencing loss of blood prior to the use of a Surgical Scapel. Likewise, Surgical Stitches can also be used after the “Fix it” button has appeared and when the player’s incisions are required to be stitched up.

Surgical Transfusion – This is tool is essential for the transfusion of pints of blood into a patient. More than that, if the pulse of the patient is weak, it will often restore it to strong.

Surgical Ultrasound – The most essential tool of the lot – the Surgical Ultrasound will let you know what physical ailments have befallen the player and thus allow you to understand the best tools to use in order to remedy the situation.

Growtopia Surgeon Skills & Skill Fails

Though you may have the tools at hand for the surgery, Growtopia’s Skill Fail system is in place to make surgery anything less than a sure thing. Effectively a RNG type situation where every attempt at surgery is subject to a random fail or success, players will have the opportunity to retry a skill fail – the idea being that the greater the surgeon skill, the fewer failures should be expected (though a skill of a 100 only means that your chance of failure will be extremely low, rather than non-existent).

Each of the skill fails and messages by tool type are shown below:

Fix it “You screwed it up! Try again.”

Surgical Anaesthetic“You end up inhaling all the anaesthetic yourself. You feel woozy.”

Surgical Antibiotics“This is the wrong medication! The bacteria like it.”

Surgical Antiseptic“You spilled antiseptic on your shoes. They are very clean now.”

Surgical Clamp“The clamp fell out of your hand, oh well.”

Surgical Defibrillator“You electrocuted yourself!”

Surgical Lab Kit“You contaminated the sample.”

Surgical Pins“You jabbed the pin through the artery!”

Surgical Scalpel “This will leave a nasty scar, but you managed to cut the right place.” Please note: This commences the start of bleeding for the patient.

Surgical Splint “You ate a splint, good job!” or “You cut the patient.” Please note: This creates a minor bleed for the patient.

Surgical Sponge“You somehow managed to eat the sponge.”

Surgical Stitches“You somehow tied yourself up in stitches!”

Surgical Transfusion “You spilled all of it! Kind of gross.”

Surgical Ultrasound“You scanned the nurse with your ultrasound!”

Growtopia Pre-Surgery Problems

Growtopia Surgery Special Conditions

To keep players on their toes during surgery, some patients may exhibit special conditions on top of their existing ailments which require addition attention as they make performing surgery more difficult with a higher chance of failure.

You can identify these special conditions by the various statements which are made on the surgery screen.

These are:

  • “The patient is absolutely filthy.” – To cure this you will need to use Surgical Sponges one extra time.
  • “The patient is hyperactive.” – The patient will wake up sooner after the Surgical Anesthetic has been applied.
  • “The patient exhibits very tough skin. Possibly a superhero.” – Before the Fix It! button appears for the first time, an additional use of a Surgical Scalpel will be needed.
  • “The patient has an antibiotic-resistant infection.” – The temperature of the patient is reduced less effectively by Surgical Antibiotics.
  • “The patient is a hemophiliac.” – If this active, the patient will bleed much faster than normal.
