Crafting materials can drop from enemies, but they can also be found in treasure coffins and found during certain quests. As well as finding lots of Hacksilver and some of the best enchantments, these resources will help you to progress and level up Kratos more quickly. | Mist Echoes | Niflheim | Mist Echoes are the main currency of Niflheim, a unique realm with distinct gameplay. Every treasure chest in Niflheim holds a random amount of Mist Echoes. The yields seem to increase the further away from home base you go. | ||
| Niflheim Alloy | Niflheim | Niflheim Alloy can randomly drop from Niflheim treasure coffins, typically in volumes of one, two, or three. The chance is greater with large, red treasure coffins and legendary (golden) treasure chests. | ||
| Haze Weave | Niflheim | Like Niflheim Alloy, Haze Weave is a rare material that can drop from legendary chests and red coffins inside Niflheim. Keep fighting into Niflheim’s inner chambers to increase your chance of acquisition. | ||

It can be acquired by spending Mist Echoes to open chests and Realm Tears in Niflheim’s inner platform, but once those avenues are depleted, it can only be found as a rare drop from legendary (golden) chests. Additionally, we have only found Aesirbane in Niflheim’s “outer chambers,” the two extra-difficult rooms that branch off the main circle. | ||
| Smoldering Ember | Muspelheim | Smoldering Embers are the main currency of Muspelheim. A handful of Embers can be earned from completing each of Muspelheim’s challenges. Additionally, after unlocking Surtr’s Hidden Trial, you will be awarded with Smoldering Embers matching your rating. Bronze yields 20, Silver yields 30, and Gold yields 50 alongside other rewards. | ||
| Crest of Flame | Muspelheim | Like Smoldering Embers, Crests of Flame can be earned from Muspelheim’s trials, albeit with a random, low chance. They can more reliably be earned from Surtr’s Hidden Trial, though you’ll need to finish with Silver or Gold to earn more than a few. | ||
| Greater Crest of Flame | Muspelheim | Rarer than Crests of Flame, the Greater Crests of Flame can only be earned (randomly) from Muspelheim’s “Impossible” trials, which open after completing all “Normal” and “Hard” trials.
