The Gang Beasts PS4 release is still happening according to developer, Boneloaf, though a date has still to be confirmed.
The crazy party game, multiplayer brawler, which is being published by Double Fine Presents and sees players wrestling in an hilarious manner with cartoon-style characters, looks like it will first be released on PC, where the Steam Community are currently involved in the beta.
Due to the lack of new information about the PS4 version of the game, it’s been rumoured recently that it had been cancelled, but Boneloaf has clarified the reason why the multiplayer beat ‘em up has been delayed from its original Q1 2017 release.
"We’re still working hard to make the last PlayStation 4 build of Gang Beasts for submission to Sony.”
The delay is attributed to some fixes that need to be deployed so that Gang Beasts can get past Sony’s QA team during submission.
“There are a small number of key fixes and UI modifications we have to make for release on PS4.”
The developer is keen to reassure players that more details we arrive soon.
“We understand that it is frustrating to have to wait for a game to release for a specific platform but we can’t give specific dates at this stage (as the release date cannot be set until the game is passed for release on the PS4 store), we plan to make a series of more frequent posts on this site in the build up to the PS4 launch announcement.”
Gang Beasts is due for release for both PS4 and PSVR, and unless we hear otherwise it’s still definitely happening.
