11 Bit Studios has updated its roadmap for Frostpunk 2, confirming the console version of the game will arrive at some point in Summer 2025.
First of all however is a free major content update that will be arriving on May 8, 2025, and after the summer console version launch, we’ll be getting the Spectrum DLC in the autumn. Following this will be the Aurora DLC later in 2025, and the third DLC update will drop at some point in 2026.

The console version of Frostbpunk 2 was previously only confirmed to arrive in 2025, so the Summer 2025 at least gives us an idea of how long we’ll have to wait.
Frostpunk 2 opens as your city has grown substantially since the previous game, with players now able to construct entire districts, including housing and industrial zones within months. Citizens now number in their thousands, not hundreds, which brings more challenges for you in your attempts to govern the population. In addition, citizens can now establish communities and factions, although siding with one can create tensions in the other — diligent management of alliance is required.
11 Bit Studios revealed back in December 2024 that it had shelved its console-focussed Project 8, and had laid off a number of an undisclosed number of developers at the company.
