Final Fantasy XIV was originally released back in 2010 for the PC, although back then it was a bit of a mess. The game was full of bugs, and failed to attract a significant audience. Not to be outdone (and not to waste all that money put into the project), Square Enix completely retooled the game and re-launched it as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
This version of the game arrived in 2013, and also brought the MMORPG to PlayStation 3 for the first time, and PlayStation 4 a year later. The game has received a number of expansions to date, including Heavensward and Stormblood.
