Square Enix announced the release date for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on PlayStation 4 this weekend.
Final Fantasy XIV will arrive on PS4 on April 14, nearly a full eight months after the game was released for PlayStation 3 and PC. The announcement came during the Letter From The Producer LIVE Part XII, in which details of the game’s 2.2 patch were also discussed.
The beta for the PS4 version will be available February 14. Gamers who already own the PS3 version will be able to transfer their login rights to the PS4 version for free, producer Naoki Yoshida explained to Famitsu (via Siliconera). If the transfer is made however, the player’s right to play the game on PS3 is removed.
