Circana’s Mat Piscatella has revealed that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth currently ranks as 14th in lifetime dollar sales in the US across all Final Fantasy titles.
If you’re curious, Final Fantasy XV remains the top dog in this respect, followed by Final Fantasy VII Remake and the original 1997 Final Fantasy VII.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth launched for the PS5 in February 2024 and there has been some suggestion that it hasn’t performed as well as expected. Last month, a Niko Partners analyst claimed that sales of the RPG have been underperforming, although Square Enix has never released official figures so we can’t really compare at the moment.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the second part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake project, and picks up after Cloud and company leave Midgar. While details on the third chapter in the FFVII Remake project haven’t been confirmed yet, Square Enix has heavily indicated that it will arrive in 2027.
