Ubisoft has today released the first official key art of the upcoming Far Cry 5 and it confirms the long-held suspicion that the game’s narrative will revolve around that of a modern day cult.
Last week, the French publisher formally revealed the title via an investor’s call and then subsequently released four small vignettes on YouTube that confirmed the setting of Montana, as well the fact that a man’s face was being used as a makeshift bell-ringer.
Today, however, the release of the key art image entitled: ‘’The Last Supper’’ confirms a cast of characters, some ammunition, a mountainous region, as well as an overtly religious theme that lend credence to the notion that we’re very much dealing with a modern cult.
Either way, it’ll make a stark departure from Far Cry games of recent memory – entries that typically revolved around exotic islands, the Himalayas, and even the Stone Age.
Far Cry 5 is confirmed to be releasing in this fiscal year, meaning we’ll be seeing it before March 31, 2018 – don’t forget to check back to PSU on Friday at 6:00am PT for the first look at Far Cry 5.
