Fallout 4 – How to find copper, circuitry and other resources, the easy way

Finding the resources you need in Fallout 4 to build your perfect weapon, piece of armor, or ideal settlement is a time-consuming task, but we’ve got some good tips to help you along the way, including a video which shows you how to tag items that you’re looking for in order to focus on those resources that you actually need.

The first thing you should do when you encounter any settlement area in Fallout 4 is head to the workshop. With the workshop interface open, walk around your settlement scrapping anything you don’t need. Here you’ll gain basic materials such as cloth, wood, concrete and metal which you’ll need in abundance to build your own settlement.

Where it gets trickier is when you need items such as circuitry, nuclear materials and copper, which are rarely found at a settlement. To find these items, the best course of action is to play the missions and scavenge every area that you come across. For example, Milton General Hospital is rife with items that can be scrapped for circuitry. Look out for street lamps, fuses and table lamps to scrap for copper. In Sanctuary Hills, there’s plenty of copper that you can get from the street lamps alone.

Fallout 4 also has a system that makes it a little easier for you to find the resources you actually need, rather than having to pick everything up that you come across. Check out the following video for more details.
