Demon Slayer began as a manga by Koyoharu Gotouge and published in Japan’s famed Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Set in Japan’s Taishō period, the story follows the journey of Tanjiro Kamado, a teenage boy who becomes a demon slayer in a quest to turn his younger sister Nezuko back into a human. Demon Slayer became a hit phenomenon following its first season anime adaptation by studio Ufotable in 2019. A second season will premiere later this year.

The film Demon Slayer: Mugen Train became the #1 highest-grossing movie of 2020 worldwide, racking up over $500 million. It also is the top-grossing anime film and top-grossing Japanese film of all time. Mugen Train is currently the second-highest grossing anime film in US box office history.
