Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 Game Of The Year Edition Confirmed By CD Projekt RED

CD Projekt RED has revealed during its latest investors meeting that Cyberpunk 2077 will receive a Game of the Year Edition, following in the footsteps of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which packaged the base game and all accompanying DLC.

Adam Kicinski, President and joint-CEO of CDPR, described it as “the natural order of things” after The Witcher 3 received the same treatment. While an exact release date wasn’t given, he did say that it would arrive soon after the Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty DLC, which arrives some time next year.

It’s the natural order of things. It was the same with the Witcher, which, after both expansions, was finally released as a Game of the Year edition and has been on the market that way every since. The same can be expected in this case.

It’s worth noting that this point that Phantom Liberty is only coming out for the PS5, PC and Xbox Series X/S versions of Cyberpunk 2077, so it’s safe to assume the Game of the Year Edition will do the same.

Cyberpunk 2077 was originally released December 2020 for PS4, PC and Xbox One, with a PS5 and Xbox Series X/S edition arriving in February 2022. You can read our review of the original PS4 version here, although note that a lot of those issues have since been patched/removed on PS5.

Looking beyond 2023, CDPR has already confirmed that it is working on a full sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 (known as Project Orion), with the studio putting hundreds of people to work on the new game.
