Cyberpunk 2077 has been given an ESRB rating of ‘M’ for Mature in Noth America, PEGI 18 in Europe, and 18+ in Brazil and Australia surprising no one. We can get an understanding of just what is set to be in the game from the listing. Warning at some minor potential spoilers below.
According to the rating which can be seen on ResetEra, Cyberpunk 2077 can get pretty raunchy in its content. Blood and Gore, intense violence, nudity, strong language, strong sexual content, and use of alcohol are all reasons why Cyberpunk landed a Mature rating. However, any fan of CD Project Red will tell you these are nothing new to their types of open worlds.
Because of how transparent the rating board has to be with why they rate games we have a greater understanding as to what type of mature content we are getting. Prostitution, sex shops, and sexual assaults are all prevalent in this game. While this may not come as a surprise it does shed some light as to the state of Night City.
While we wait on more details from Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red announced that the game’s DLC will be announced before the game releases. The team also shared some details on Cyberpunk 2077 for PS5, including how they need to wait for Sony to unveil its next-generation system.
Cyberpunk 2077 is releasing on September 17, 2020, for PS4.
