Plumping the depths of CD Projekt RED’s latest financial report has yielded some interesting details about the development cost for Cyberpunk 2077, the epic sci-fi juggernaut that hit PS4, PC and Xbox One today.
As spotted by Daniel Ahmad on Twitter, the studio spent about $135 million on Cyberpunk 2077, and this figure also included its planned multiplayer component. Well, I shouldn’t say ‘component,’ as CDPR has made it clear that it’s a completely separate project.
Ahmad noted that the figure does not factor in marketing costs, which is obviously going to bump up the cost considerably.

Cyberpunk 2077 unfortunately is in a bit of a state right now on the PS4, and you can read our initial impressions here. Hopefully CDPR will address these issues, as it’s definitely a bit of a shocker to see how bad it performs after waiting, what, eight years for the game? It was announced in 2012, after all.
