New Cyberpunk 2077 details have emerged from a series of German podcasts, which have shed some light on the game’s Cyberspace which was teased at E3 last year. Specifically, Cyberspace is described as “a bit like Skyrim meets Tron.”
The German podcasts have been kindly translated into English by a Reddit user, first picked up by VGC. The podcasts detail some information including that you will apparently be able to summon fantasy-style RPG creatures when in the games many cyberspace segments. While we are not sure what these segments entail, we envision some massive battles being fought in cyberspace. Reportedly there are fireballs and swords and the ability to block with a shield. A quote from the podcast says “It sounds like a fantasy RPG in a high-tech environment.”
On top of that, Cyberpunk 2077 will apparently have more than a thousand NPC’s, all with their own daily routine. This system alone will make the environments you traverse in Cyberpunk seem more alive and immersive. Finally, another tidbit to come out of the podcasts highlights that CD Projekt Red has vastly improved the melee system of the game since its initial gameplay reveal. The melee system is something the developer has talked about since the game’s inception, with parrying, blocking and all manner of weapons to wield against your foes.
Hopefully, we will see and hear more in the upcoming Night City Wire Stream on June 25th. The stream promises a brand new look at Cyberpunks gameplay and will no doubt have fans swooning over the scale and style of the long-awaited title.
Cyberpunk 2077 is due to release on the PlayStation 4 on September the 17th and no doubt will have some sort of upgrade/PS5 version.
