Crash Team Racing Nitro Fuelled

Watch The Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Gameplay Launch Trailer

Activision has cobbled together an adrenaline-pumping Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled gameplay launch trailer for you to gawk at. It’s a wee bit early, considering the game isn’t out until later this month, but it’d probably get buried next week amidst all the E3 2019 excitement, so it’s probably just as well they got it out the door today. Plus, everyone loves a bit of Crash Team Racing, right?

The trailer pretty much does exactly what it says on the tin, highlighting Crash Team Racing’s general gameplay and offering a look at some of the various modes available, including Adventure Mode. You may recall that this feature was seen in the original 1999 version of Crash Team Racing, and it returns here with some extra features.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is slated for release on PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One on June 21. The game is a full remake of the Naughty Dog classic kart-’em-up on PSOne, although it comes with more than just a high-definition facelift.

In addition to the revamped Adventure Mode, developer Beenox has outfitted the game with content from Crash Nitro Kart and Crash Tag Team Racing. Furthermore, Nitro-Fueled includes online multiplayer and fully customisable karts. The game features 26 playable characters, and there’s now an in-game shop, the Pit Stop, allowing you to fork out Wumpa Coins to purchase new content.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is the second effort starring the crate-smashing marsupial to see a remake, with Vicarious Visions previously developing full remakes of the original PSOne Crash Bandicoot trilogy for modern platforms. It was a huge success, too, proving that nostalgia for classic games is very much alive and kicking.

The PS4 version of Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled will also feature PS4-exclusive content, including skins reflecting the original 1999 version and a retro-flavoured track.
