Thomas Puha, Communications Director at Remedy, has touched on the packed September release schedule that Control Resonant is slated to launch into, stating that the developer is more concerned releasing the game at its “best possible quality” and doesn’t consider bringing the date forward an option.
In case you haven’t been keeping up with release dates, September will see the launch of a number of high profile games including Marvel’s Wolverine, Silent Hill Townfall, The Blood of Dawnwalker, Halloween: The Game, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4, and Onimusha: Way of the Sword, so Control Resonant has a lot of competition to contend with.
We locked in our release date based on what’s best for the game. The most important thing, I’m sure you agree, is that we ship Control Resonant at the best possible quality because that is the right thing to do, rather than shipping something that isn’t fully polished. If your game isn’t great at launch, the gaming audience won’t like it, and it’s hard to recover from that.
The release window is challenging, there is no denying that, but there is always going to be competition, but ultimately, we have to trust the quality of our game. We are giving Control Resonant, by far Remedy’s biggest marketing campaign, to support the game. It is very competitively priced, and much more is coming in the days ahead now that we have announced our release date.
Control Resonant is scheduled for release on September 24, 2026 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
