According to Enad Global 7, the new project from developer Cold Iron Studios is slated to release at some point later this year.
Speaking during its outlook for 2025, the publisher noted that “Daybreak is working closely with Cold Iron and on track to bring its new game to market later this year.” That’s about all there is to garner from the statement, but at least we have some idea of when to expect the game.
Cold Iron Studios is the developer behind Aliens: Fireteam Elite, which was released for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One in August 2021. Back in October 2023, Cold Iron Studios revealed that it was moving on to its next major title, but still had a few quality-of-life updates planned for Aliens.

Fast-forward to July 2024, and it was reported that the developer is actually working on Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, which is known internally as Project Macondo. According to a document that started gathering traction on social media, the game is slated for release in Q3 2025 and will add a new Annihilation Mode to the table.
Nothing official has been announced yet regarding the identity of Cold Iron Studios’ new game.
