Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is available for early download on October 5 for those who pre-ordered the Legacy Edition of Infinite Warfare, where gamers will have access to the classic shooter’s single-player campaign.
However, select press and YouTube streamers have been granted even earlier access to Call of Duty 4’s campaign. As such, one user, NoahJ456, has leaked the file size of the PlayStation 4 version of the game ahead of its release.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered file size confirmed
According to the YouTuber, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remasterd PS4 will weigh in at 39.18GB, although you can start playing the game once it reaches 10.61GB downloaded. That’s a pretty hefty download for just the single-player campaign, leading many to suspect the multiplayer has also been included in the package.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was originally released back in November 2007 for the PS3, PC, and Xbox 360. The game is noted for being the first chapter in the multi-million selling first-person shooter franchise to take place in a contemporary setting, with previous games having restricted the action to World War II.

The game was a huge success, and is often cited as being one of the most significant FPS games of the past decade, as well as single-handedly responsible for reinvigorating the Call of Duty franchise. Call of Duty 4 has sold over 15.7 million copies worldwide to date, and spawned a popular series in itself, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
