Activision is reportedly launching the long-rumored Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 remastered campaign with Season 3 of 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. That’s at least according to folk who have been snooping around in the game files following yesterday’s update.
Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered Leaked?
The leak features artwork for the as-yet unannounced campaign remaster of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and comes with images of Ghost, the fan-favourite character played by Craig Fairbrass who appeared in the 2009 military shooter.
It’s pretty clear-cut at this point that a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 remaster is on the way, and it looks like the online portion is not being featured.
Chatter about a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 revamp has been doing the rounds for two years now, but for one reason or another it’s taken this long for the game to materialise again. The original Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was remastered alongside the release of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare a few years ago, so it makes sense the follow-up is being given the same treatment.
Just recently, the game was rated on the Korean game ratings board, suggesting a release is imminent. Right now, it’s not yet known if you’ll be able to purchase it as a standalone retail game or not.
In addition, a prominent Call of Duty leaker has said that not only is a remastered version of the game’s campaign is on its way, but it’ll have a multiplayer too.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was originally released back in 2009 for the PS3, PC, and Xbox 360.
The game follows special forces unit Task Force 141, lead by Captain Soap MacTavish, as they attempt to apprehend Russian Ultranationalist party leader Vladimir Makarov, and the United States Army Rangers, as they defend the country against a Russian invasion.
