Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare PS4 file size confirmed

Charlie Intel has confirmed the file size for the PlayStation 4 version of Activision’s hotly anticipated Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare ahead of its release later this week.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare PS4 file size varies depending on region

Activision had previously indicated that PS4 users would need a whopping 130GB for both Infinite Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, although pleasingly the reality of the situation is a little less demanding. The 130GB includes future patches and DLC, but in terms of downloading the games at launch, you won’t need as much as that.

PS4 owners can expect the file size to vary depending on the region, with Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare clocking in anywhere between 44.6GB to 53.6GB. For details on Modern Warfare Remastered, see our earlier story here. You can pre-load the game for both PS4 and Xbox One right now.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is scheduled for release on November 4, 2016 for PS4, PC, and Xbox One. Set in the near future, the game takes place in outer space for the first time in the series’ history, with Earth’s natural resources have been severely depleted thanks to a population spike. Players control a member of the Tier 1 Special Operations force as he is tasked with defeating the Settlement Defense Front, a splinter faction that now oppose the United Nations Space Alliance.

Meanwhile, Modern Warfare Remastered is being given away with special editions of Infinite Warfare, and offers a fully enhanced version of 2007’s critically acclaimed first-person shooter complete with full campaign and multiplayer component.

Call of Duty first launched in 2003 for the PC and the franchise has since gone on to sell over 175 million copies worldwide as of 2015. The series currently operates on a three-year development cycle for each title, split between Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games, and Treyarch.
