A Destiny 2 bug that unlocks specific weapons for all classes is not going to be ironed out by developer Bungie.
The bug was detected following the release of the Destiny 2 Hersey update, as prior to this, Edge of Intent, Edge of Concurrence, and Age of Action were only available to Warlocks, Hunter, and Titans. However, the bug results in every Exotic Glaive to be accessed by all classes in Destiny 2, in addition to a number of older swords that were previously class-locked.

However, Bungie has now revealed that it won’t be patching out the bug, and instead is embracing it as part of the overall experience.
On the backend, we shifted to a new way of creating weapons and rewards to help streamline some of the development process. While moving into this new paradigm, class lockouts for the Exotic Glaives and a handful of Swords were mistakenly removed.
We’ve been seeing some great celebrations with the removal of these constraints. Our first reactions were focused more towards fixing the issue as we want to retain strong class-based fantasies within Destiny, and the removal of class locks muddies the water a bit. As an example, it’s a bit weird to see a Warlock or a Hunter spawning a mini-bubble or seeing a Titan running like a ninja.
After some discussions between team members, we’ve arrived at a new decision: we’re going to let this ride. A fun example of a bug becoming a feature.
The developer added that a few in-game animations “may look a bit weird” due to the presence of the bug, but noted that it “can create fun opportunities for players to create videos, art, or other based on classes in difference stances.” The Destiny franchise celebrated its 10th anniversary back in September 2024, at which point Bungie revealed that its plans going forward is to release two ‘medium’ expansion every year.
