FromSoftware’s Bloodborne has been poked and prodded at by the modding community for some time now, and recently, they’ve managed to unearth a new boss that was cut from the final version of the PlayStation 4-exclusive dungeon crawler.
Bloodborne Modders Find Cut Boss
Delving into the game’s files, the modding community for Bloodborne discovered that the enemy Loran Cleric was originally designed to appear in locations such as the Forbidden Woods, Old Yharnam, and Upper Cathedral Ward. In the final game though, the foe was only encountered during the Loran chalice dungeons,.
If you cast your mind back to March 2019, models discovered a rare attack for Loran Cleric, in which he raises his staff and slams it down into the ground, creating an area-of-effect attack that sends a wave of fire in a circular motion that also causes the frame rate to drop.
If that wasn’t interesting enough, a new variant of the enemy, called the Fort, was discovered in the game’s files that suggest it was going to be a boss fight, but was cut from the final product.
Bloodborne was released for the PS4 back in March 2015, and remains one of the console’s most celebrated titles. Read our review of the game here.
