How many of these games do you own?
10. Resident Evil 7
As you skittishly peer around the corner in the main hallway of the Baker plantation and spy the towering form of “Immortal” Jack Baker slowly stalking its corridors, hefting a farming implement that could easily skew a boar all the while uttering insane taunts that make him sound like WWE's Bray Wyatt, a feeling that isn't usually associated with Resident Evil comes over you in waves; you feel utterly defenceless. More than that though, you feel scared; as in chills down the back of your neck scared. This is Resident Evil and it's great to have it back.
9. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
8. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
From the unsettling flashbacks of the game's opening, to the audacious escapades near the game's finale, this is a game that is often gleefully ignorant of subtlety, as it charges into its prickly subject matter with unrelenting force. Yet, this does not stop Wolfenstein II from having heart and soul to go with its big dumb head.

7. Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
Hellblade is up there as one of the best PS4 games of 2017. Its incredible use of sound and visual manipulation to completely immerse you in its experience is a credit to Ninja Theory. Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is a prime example that you don't need a massive budget to create something extraordinary.

6. Yakuza 0
A wondrous melting pot of Japanese cultural excess distilled into a relentlessly compelling synergy of RPG and action elements, Yakuza 0 arguably represents the consummate entry point for newcomers to the series. Without a doubt, Yakuza 0 is a masterpiece and the first must-have title of the year.
5. Assassin’s Creed: Origins
Beautiful to look at and packed full of compelling content, Assassin's Creed Origins ranks as one of the best entries in the series to date. Exploring Egypt is an unending joy thanks to the game’s structure.

4. What Remains of Edith Finch
What Remains of Edith Finch is a journey to discover truth, even if that truth is debilitating. There is a charm and humanity here that's hard to ignore and even harder to emulate. One in a million is too often used nowadays, but it holds true here.

3. NieR: Automata
Exceptional in every way. NieR: Automata delivers on every cylinder, providing one of the best experiences this year. In every generation there is a game that leaves an impression on you and for me, NieR: Automata is that game. To put it simply, NieR: Automata is a magical experience.
2. Horizon: Zero Dawn
Horizon Zero Dawn reinvigorates open-world RPGs with an excellent story, creative science fiction, and demanding gameplay. Aloy's debut is one of the best PS4 games of 2017.
Persona 5 (PSU Game of the Year 2017)
Persona 5 may not pull up many trees in terms of innovation, but it refines and refreshes the things that make a great RPG work. The real star of the show however, is the world this RPG inhabits, and the people in it that you come to adore. Persona 5 is something to sink your entire self into, and end up feeling utterly despondent about when you finally have to leave its stylish embrace.
