It’s been a long time coming, but PS5 users can now download the BBC iPlayer app to catch up on all their favourite programmes ahead of Christmas. What’s more, it supports UHD providing you have a compatible telly.
To access the BBC iPlayer PS5 app, all you have to do is head to the Media tab on the system’s home screen and select BB iPlayer from the All Apps section. This will add BBC iPlayer to the apps library and allow you to access it directly from the PS5 home screen.
Aside from obvious candidates such as EastEnders (“everyone’s talking about it,” as the old TV ads used to say — not sure that’s the case anymore, as it’s a bit naff lately), BBC iPlayer also lets you watch the likes of Showtrial, The Outlaw, as well as the full boxes of Doctor Who and Sir David Attenborough’s The Mating Game.
