Battlefield 2042 Battlefield 2042 AI Bots EA News PS4 PS5 Ripple Effect Studios

Battlefield 2042 Is Always Online, Including When You’re Playing Solo Against AI Bots

EA and Ripple Effect Studios have announced that Battlefield 2042 will not allow you to play against AI bots offline, with the upcoming first-person shooter being an entirely online experience.

We already knew that bots would be part of the Battlefield 2042 package, such as when the game needs to fill up the 128 player count when there’s not enough fleshy humans to do the job. Fair enough, but what about when played Solo, is it possible to play offline against the AI? In a nutshell, nope.

Battlefield 2042 is a multiplayer-only experience. So while you can play Solo against AI Soldiers if you’d like to practice, it will be in an online setting.

EA recently dropped a shedload of Battlefield 2042 details recently, including confirmation that Cross-Play is in the works (which splits its functionality by console generation) as well as Cross-Progression and Cross-Commerce.
