Larian Studios has acknowledged that Baldur’s Gate 3 update 1.800 is now available for the PS5 following a premature release.
While fans have been anticipating the release of the new patch, Larian Studio was quick to note that new saves made while running on Patch 8 will not be compatible with the previous version of the game.
No, the Patch 8 stress test hasn’t yet begun. Yes, PS5 players do currently have access to Patch 8. While we work with our partners to understand what’s going on, please note that any new saves made while on Patch 8 will not be compatible with Patch 7.

Baldur’s Gate III Patch 8 is a major release, as it will introduce the Cross-Play feature as well as 12 new subclasses, as detailed below:
- Bard – College of Glamour
- Barbarian – Path of Giants
- Cleric – Death Domain
- Druid – Circle of Stars
- Paladin – Oath of the Crown
- Fighter – Arcane Archer
- Monk – Drunken Master
- Ranger – Swarmkeeper
- Rogue – Swashbuckler
- Sorcerer – Shadow Magic
- Warlock – Hexblade
- Wizard – Bladesinging
Larian Studios announced earlier this month that it has seen 100 million mods downloaded, released the Withers Big Naturals mod for the PS5 to mark the milestone. Baldur’s Gate III was released for the PS5 in September 2023, and the game has reportedly sold 15 million copies across all formats. Despite its success, Larian Studios confirmed last year that it is moving away from the franchise and Dungeons and Dragons as a whole for its next project.
