Assassin’s Creed Valhalla To Feature More Modern Day Sequences With Layla Hassan

Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will see the return of the polarising modern day sequences featuring Layla, and it seems there’s more for her to do this time around compared to the past few games.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Modern Day Events

The news comes via a preview on the PlayStation Blog, which confirms these sequences are activated by finding animus anomalies scattered throughout the English countryside.

If a corner of the English countryside seems a bit unsynchronized, you may have stumbled across an Animus Anomaly. In these moments the Animus simulation of Eivor’s adventure will pause while present-day protagonist Layla takes over. Navigate the anomaly to reach a data packet filled with eye-catching secrets.

The modern day sequences have been part and parcel of the Assassin’s Creed experience since day one, although for the first few games they were fairly major events focussing on the exploits of Desmond, voiced by Nolan North.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is slated for release on November 17 for PS4, PC and Xbox One, with a PS5 and Xbox Series X version arriving at launch.
