Ubisoft has issued a statement to DualShockers stating that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on PS5 does not run a native 4K, and is instead upscaled to reach the target resolution.
The statement reads as follows: “I can confirm that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla runs at 4K at 60 fps on PS5 (upscaled 4K).” So, this certainly seems to suggest that the game will not run at 4K 60 FPS natively. But, you shouldn’t take this with complete confirmation as Ubisoft has previously said that the game will run at 4K 60 FPS, without stating if that is upscaled or not. Therefore, we will likely need to wait for Digital Foundry or another website to properly analyse it to get complete confirmation.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is scheduled for release on PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One on November 10, just in time for the launch of Sony’s next-generation console.
The latest entry in Ubisoft’s multi-million selling franchise takes place in the Dark Ages in the year 873 AD, and sees players controlling Eivor, a Viking warrior who becomes embroiled in the battle between the Assassin Brotherhood and the Templar Order.
