Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will feature a male and female version of protagonist Eivor, that much we know, but it’s now been confirmed that the game’s default setup will have you playing as both genders at various points in the story.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Male And Female Eivor Used At Multiple Points In-Game
This may not come as a shocker, as Ubisoft previously said that both the male and female versions of Eivor are canon.
As soon as you boot up Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you’ll have the option of selecting male Eivor, female Eivor, or ‘Let the Animus decide,’ which is the default option. However, if you change your mind, you can come back to these options at any time.
Speaking on Twitter, Darby McDevitt commented:
It means ‘Let the Animus decide’ is canon. And both characters will appear at various points when you choose this option. So both are canon. The Animus will represent the stronger FEMALE or MALE memory-stream, depending on its current strength. You may choose another option at any time.
Ubisoft yesterday revealed that the game will feature the mythical Norse realms of Asgard and Jotunheim. Perhaps we’ll bump into Thor? At this point, with all the fantastical elements creeping into the series, it wouldn’t surprise me at all.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is pencilled in for release on PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One on November 10.
