Developer Respawn has revealed that Apex Legends cross-play will not include PC players automatically, and will instead only feature them if players have a teammate that is using PC in a cross-play match.
New Details On Apex Legends Cross-Play
Speaking on TikTok, Jake Smullin, an engineer at Respawn Entertainment, revealed that console players needn’t worry about PC players ‘dominating’ them in cross-play matches.
Wanted to clear something up about Apex Legends cross-play. You will only be in PC crossplay lobbies if you have a PC player on your team. Have been seeing lots of console players worrying about this, but don’t. Everyone should be excited. So no more ‘not crossplay, PC is gonna dominate us.’
In case you missed it, Apex Legends cross-play will be available for PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One players this fall.
Apex Legends was released back in February 2019 and amassed 50 million players in just one month.
