First up, let’s take a look at the standard weapons available. Each weapon has a number of slots available, using an optic slot and a magazine slot. Some will have a barrel attachment slot, stock attachments and hop up attachments slots.
You can find weapons by searching buildings or opening supply crates, or the various loot crates that can be found in each location on the map.

Best Apex Legends Weapons
This obviously depends on your play-style. Whether you like the fast-firing of an assault rifle, like to get up close with a shotgun, or shoot from a distance with a sniper rifle. Based on our gameplay so far, these are are top picks. The damage listed below is only if you use the full clip of ammo available and are accurate with your shots.
Mastiff Shotgun
This appears to be the most powerful shotgun right now. It deals 144 damage if you hit the body and up to 288 damage with a headshot.
Wingman Pistol
Using heavy ammo, this pistol packs a punch with 45 damage to body and 90 damage with a headshot. This is an excellent secondary weapon to carry.
Prowler SMG
This appears to be the best SMG in Apex Legends. It uses heavy ammo and if you hit all your shots from it you’ll cause 70 body damage and 105 headshot damage.
Kraber Sniper Rifle
This is our weapon of choice in Apex Legends. It has real power, holds 8 rounds, can be equipped with a x10 zoom and delivers 125 body damage and 250 headshot damage.
In terms of the best assault rifle in Apex Legends, we’re still undecided. The Flatline delivers a decent amount of damage and uses heavy rounds, though we do like the accuracy of the R-301 Carbine, despite its low damage.
As we play the game, there’s no doubt our tastes will change, so we’ll update this article if needed. In the meantime, let us know what you think are the best Apex Legends weapons.
