Alien: Rogue Incursion was the last big PS VR2 game to close out 2024, filled with Xenomorphs and the kind of intense moments fans of the Alien franchise have come to expect from any work that emerges from the franchise, films and games included.
It was also, unfortunately, filled with all the wrong kinds of bugs that bring the experience down, as our reviewer (and plenty of players) noted. Thankfully, developer Survios isn’t abandoning Rogue Incursion to scream for help in space where no one can hear it.
In a statement published on the developer’s official Twitter page, it announced that there will be a “patch roadmap” released sometime soon, with updates beginning to rollout this January 2025.
“We’ve seen a lot of positivity for the game since launch, but also received constructive feedback from players who want Alien: Rogue Incursion to be the best way to experience Alien in VR. We are committed to ensuring Alien: Rogue Incursion lives up to your expectations, and appreciate all of your comments,” said Survios.
“We are currently focusing on resolving player issues in Alien: Rogue Incursion, as well as improving performance and optimization. For example, with help from your feedback, our team is reviewing and improving the Xenomorph spawn rates and locations, along with performance increases for minimum and medium spec hardware configurations.
Patches will begin rolling out in January 2025 and we will share a patch roadmap soon.”
Survios also shared a link for players who want to report any bugs they’ve run into alongside the studio’s support email which is: [email protected], and a separate link that includes troubleshooting guides for the select issues that players might be able to fix themselves.
In our review of Alien: Rogue Incursion, we said “Alien: Rogue Incursion has a lot for Alien fans to love and appreciate, with surprises that’ll truly delight fans the way they delighted me. But repetitive gameplay that doesn’t really evolve dulls down the tension and scare-factor significantly by the time you’re wrapping up this initial part of the story, and far too much jank pulls you out of the atmosphere that is working overtime to immerse you in the Alien universe.”
