A PC Hardware Modder Has Managed To Create A Water Cooled PS5

Nhenhophach, a Vietnamese hardware mode specialising in custom PCs, has manufactured a custom water cooled PS5, and may even make them available to sell at some point.

In case you’re not aware, water cooling is a method used to eliminate heat by using water, and is usually a more efficient and less noisy method than using air cooling systems via fans.

This is just the very first version of water cooled PS5, there will be so many more versions. We are continuing [to] prepare for [a] commercial version and also ready to integrate the water cooled PS5 into one of our next PC build, don’t miss it.

There’s no way to measure precisely the temperature of the APU core of PS5 and memory chips, testing was done in a manner that take lots of time playing. [But] based on water temperature & backplate temperature, we can gauge the performance of this system in some way.

With PS5, one of the reasons for the console’s size is due to the 120mm cooling fan, but a water cooled version of the system would not need to be quite as large.
