Crystal Dynamics‘ latest Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered Starring Lara Croft update a few weeks back offered a number of improvements to the classic PSOne titles, but it also removed some pinups of our nimble heroine from Sleeping with the Fishes, one of the stages in Tomb Raider 3’s The Lost Artefact expansion.
The pinups are probably familiar to long-time Tomb Raider fans, as they are basically official artwork of Lara that were doing the rounds in the late 90s. They are both featured in a locker room in Sleeping with the Fishers, and are only viewable in detail via the remastered graphics.
The original visuals do feature them technically, but unless you are familiar with the original images they are a bit hard to make out due to the pixellated graphics. However, Crystal Dynamics has now wiped the pinups completely from the remastered visuals, leaving a blank wall in their absence. You can see the images below.

As mentioned there is no word of the posters being removed in the patch notes for the game’s last update, so we have no idea of why they were given the chop. The most bizarre aspect of it all is that they are highlighted on the Tomb Raider website as Easter eggs for the player to find.
