Sony will release a new PS4 update to address error code E-801809A8 within the next week or so.

That’s at least according to a PS4 user affected by the error, who posted a conversation he had with a Sony customer service representative on the official PlayStation message board.

You can see a transcript of his conversation below.

The issue appears to originate from the release of PS4 update 5.0, which prevents users from being able to update their console. It was later indicated that the problem stems from a faulty Blu-ray Drive.
