Uncharted 4 contains a teaser for something related to The Last of Us

Not content with featuring a fully playable level of Crash Bandicoot in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End (yes, really), the acclaimed developer has also thrown in a cheeky reference to The Last of Us in its celebrated action-adventure sequel.

At one point in the game (we’re not elaborating any further to keep things spoiler-free, but if you don’t want to find out what it is, STOP reading now!), the player is able to have a look at a wall plastered with various polaroids, next to which is a poster saying ‘The Last of Us: American Daughters.’

Further examination reveals the logo for Dark Horse Comics, which seems to indicate this is another chapter in The Last of Us’ comic series, as opposed to a full-fledged sequel to the 2013 original.

The character on the front of the image looks a lot like Ellie, although it’s difficult to tell who it is as they’re wearing a gas mask. However, the most notable feature is that the character is obviously pregnant.

The Last of Us was released on PlayStation 3 back in June 2013, and was remastered for the PlayStation 4 the following year. The game picked up rave reviews from critics and went on to sell over seven million copies worldwide.

Naughty Dog has yet to announce a sequel to the game, although it has said it was brainstorming ideas for The Last of Us 2 before ramping up Uncharted 4 production. The California-based studio also said that it will revisit prototypes for a potential follow-up once work on Uncharted 4’s single-player DLC is done and dusted.

The developer has said it has at least one more game coming out for PS4, though hasn’t gone into any details on the matter. Read our Uncharted 4 review.
