PS4K / PS4.5 will be announced at Tokyo Game Show 2016, claims new report

According to a report on VR World, Sony plans on announcing the PlayStation 4.5, codenamed Neo, at the Tokyo Game Show in September 2016.

The PS4 hardware revamp will be joined by the unveiling of Nintendo’s next-generation console, the NX. VR World also backs up previous reports that the Neo will feature an improved GPU and memory.

Sony has been rumored to be working on an updated version of its flagship console for a while now, with initial reports suggesting it will be priced at $400 and arrive this holiday season. We also heard it’ll be announced before PlayStation VR launches in October, which ties in with VR Report’s TGS reveal claims.

More recently, it has been suggested that the PS4.5 Neo will arrive in March 2017, and despite boasting improved innards, won’t receive its own exclusive titles. Sony, obviously, has yet to comment on any of these rumors.

In addition to PS4.5 and NX, Microsoft is reportedly beavering away on a new console update for the Xbox One.
