There is no doubt that Square Enix had a fantastic presentation at Sony’s E3 conference this year with the unveiling of Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3. However, it looks like we’ll have to wait quite a long while for the latter to be released.
In an interview with Famitsu, Kingdom Hearts creator, Tetsuya Nomura said he feels that KH3 was announced too early for his liking. Nomura-san commented: "Since the release of Kingdom Hearts II, I believe that many fans were feeling impatient due to our continuous releases of spin-off titles, so we decided to announce it at the same time as Final Fantasy XV. However, looking at the current development status, I think we may have announced it a little too early."
Square-Enix doesn’t entirely have the best track record either with releasing games on time, or releasing them within 3-4 years of the announcement, so hopefully Kingdom Hearts 3 is an exception.
